Commanded around 1740 by King João V in order to transport, in Lisbon, the statue of the Virgin in the Procession of Our Lady of Cabo Espichel.

Processional vehicle with shrine, glass case, oratory or small throne to transport the religious statue.

The base is decorated with small panels with the Sun and Moon, on the right side a house and lighthouse, on the left side a floral stalk and on the rear a star and a mirror.

On the case sides, two lamps lighted up the statue of the Virgin held in place by an iron spike.

The suspension springs, C-shaped , for the body have original plant designs. As the Royal Family was part of the procession, the Berlin with the statue has the royal crown on its roof.
